WIT Exec MBA visit to Danone
Danone Nutricia, Early Life Nutrition Wexford will be hosting an event for the current WIT Executive MBA students on 1st December 2016. This will provide more insight into both infant milk manufacturing in Ireland and also the close working relationship with the dairy industry in Ireland and its impact on the wider economy. The event will encompass both a presentation and site visit after the MBA class lecture on the Thursday afternoon.
Danone Nutricia, Early Life Nutrition is one of four divisions within the multi-national company, Danone, that specialises in the production of baby food. The other three divisons are the dairy division that produces milk based products that includes brands such as Actima and Activia yogurt ranges, the Water division that includes brands such as Volvic and Evian and the Medical division that produces nutritional supplements and innovations including he;ing patients in the early stages of Alzheimers disease.
Ireland is an integral part of the Early Life Nutrition division as it produces both the base powder and finished goods of infant milk formula at the Macroom and Wexford manufacturing facilities employing c.450 employees. The infant milk formula finished goods include well known brands such as Cow & Gate and Aptamil. The base powder for the infant milk formula is produced for international network of packing factories at the Macroom manufacturing operation while both base powder and finished goods are produced at the Wexford manufacturing facility. The division also has a commercial business unit based in Dublin for the marketing a sales of the finished goods in Ireland.
