Life after Brexit
The MBA Association South East Chapter recently hosted an evening seminar with economist Austin Hughes in the Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), where he discussed the theme of ‘Life after Brexit’. The event was co-ordinated in collaboration with the WIT Business School and KBC.
The lecture examined the extent to which Brexit might be seen as a symptom as well as a cause of widespread economic difficulties at present and reviewed the capacity of the Irish economy to address some significant challenges in coming years.
Austin Hughes has worked as an Economist for KBC since 1990, following stints in the Department of Finance, Central Bank and Bord Fáilte. He has an MA in economics from UCD. His focus is on issues affecting the Irish and European economies. He produces a number of closely followed Consumer Sentiment Surveys and is also a regular contributor to media on economic and financial topics.
This event, was approved for CPD hours with the Institute of Bankers and CPA Ireland.
