Cybercrime - a time bomb ticking under your business
The MBA Association of Ireland was delighted to partner with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to present a discussion on one of the gravest yet least understood topics in all of businesses today – cybercrime.
We were fortunate to have acknowledged experts in John Finan, Detective Sergeant, Garda Cyber Crime Bureau and Tommy Maycock, Director, Cyber Security Department, Grant Thornton to enlighten us on the various aspects of cybercrime and advise on what businesses should be doing to counter the threat it holds.
John addressed the specific business risk that cybercrime presents and issues surrounding the securing of admissible digital evidence. Drawing on its impact on the financial world in particular, Tommy’s contribution covered cyber governance, SWIFT attacks and phishing.
The event took place in CIMA Ireland.
Our thanks to CIMA for organising this event. Members may be interested in its Master’s Gateway programme, an accelerated entry route to the CIMA Professional Qualification for individuals who hold an MBA. See more here.
